Buen día, amigas. ¡Otra miércoles, otra canción! Esta semana, tememos “Por Última Vez” (For the Last Time), de Matisse.
La Canción de la Semana
I came across this video back when I started exploring Matisse, after encountering them, originally, as featured artists in the HA-ASH video “Sé Que Te Vas” (22 de junio de 2016). While I fell in love with their style — both musical and visual — from the start upon seeing this very video, I couldn’t bring myself to share it, because, frankly, it’s just too melancholy. (Even for me!)
Well, considering my mood this week — “somber”, being the term mi dulce hermana, Lupita, used so accurately when she called to check on me — I suppose it’s a fitting canción to share. That said, i hope for all my amigas that none of them (you) end up taking up this song as her own, as I have done on a couple of occasions in my past. (I’m sure I’m not alone therein.)
Y ahora, sin más preámbulos, te damos “Por Última Vez”. (Puedes que desees eliminar tu rímel antes de escuchando.)
Más Sobre Mis Estudios con Duolingo
I don’t have, unfortunately, much to share about my progress in learning esta hermoso idioma. But I can happily report to you that Duolingo has been my go-to study aide of late, and that it seems to work wonders. I’m not giving up on Rocket Spanish, because I still believe that, though more costly, it’s a more comprehensive way of studying. However, Duolingo allows me what Rocket does not (without some maneuvering on my part) — the ability to practice my vocabulary in little 5-minute spurts (or “spouts”, as Lupita inadvertently called them recently) while waiting in the car in a drive-through, while sitting in a waiting room, or (dare I say it?) while in el baño! (I know, I know… that’s a guy thing.)
¡Bueno, hasta luego, amigas!
