post

Buenos días, amigas.  ¡Otra miércoles, otra canción!  Esta semana, os traemos Fey y Lenny’s “No Me Acostumbro” (“I’m Not Accustomed”).

Another tune from el Patrón

My day-job boss has done it again!  He has been known to introduce me to some good music in the past.  (Think Noelia.)  One day last week, while he was working remotely and we were communicating only by Skype (not too much different from when he’s at the office), he shot me the link to this song on YouTube.  He and I don’t always share the same taste in music, but we do more times than not.

I haven’t had time to translate this, though I did understand some of the lyrics as I was listening to it.

Still, I’m very taken with its harmonic and visual beauty, and I understand a little of it just by listening (improving all the time), so I’m going to share it and let you find the lyrics and translation, if you like.  (If someone requests it, I’ll oblige.  it’ll be nice to learn that someone’s interested enough to want them! <wink-wink>)

Rocketing forward…

Well, this is a first:  Since I last wrote to you, I have actually finished two — not one — Rocket Spanish lessons.  One, interestingly, featured a conversation between Mauricio, Amy, and Carmen about a concert Mauricio attended with his friend.  (I made mention of that lesson during my last post, but I shared that I had only previewed it.)

That lesson, and the last one I heard, wherein Carmen relates a story about Mauricio’s childhood soccer match, finish up the section on preterite-tense verbs.  I’m not sure that I have a spectacular hold on them, but I can, at least conjugate a few regular verbs in the preterite at this point.  I’m getting there.  Bueno….

¡Hasta luego, amigas!
