HA-ASH – ¿De Dónde Sacas Eso?

Buenos días, amigas.  ¡Otra miércoles, otra canción!  Esta semana, os traemos HA-ASH’s “¿De Dónde Sacas Eso?” (“Where Do You Get That?”).

Sacar: to take out, to remove

This week’s canción features, yet again, the verb “sacar” (conjugated sacas herein), in its lyrics.  The word is quite the chameleon, being used to express ideas from “remove” to “leave” to, in this case, “get/understand”.  Versatile; eh?  The lyrics in this one are quite clever, reminding us somewhat (in spirit) of those in “Perdón Perdón“:

HA-ASH – Pezados

Buenos días, amigas.  ¡Otra miércoles, otra canción!  Esta semana, os traemos HA-ASH’s “Pedazos” (“Pieces”).

Más de HA-ASH (¡Finalmente!)

In the past few months, my library of Latino music has broadened and deepened at the same time.  I’ve been exposed to more and more artists and duos, and I’ve dived into the “deep tracks” with some of my favorites (e.g., Paty Cantú and Lu).  When put my music app on shuffle, though, and the shuffle eventually dishes up a HA-ASH tune, I almost always feel compelled to push the replay button a few times before moving on.

HA-ASH – Estés Donde Estés

Hola amigas.  Otra semana, otra vídeo — “Estés Donde Estés” (wherever you are).

This is a song I first encountered about a year back, when I first discovered Ha-Ash.  It is the 2nd track on their latest album, Primera Fila — Hecho Realidad.  But it debuted 11 years before as the sisters’ second single in 2003, and as the 4th track from their 1st album, Ha-Ash, released the same year.

I am a sucker for melancholy mixed with a driving rhythm, and this number has that in spades, right from the start:

Recuerdo tus besos…
Y en la distancia puedo oír tu voz…
Diciendo que esto no eran una adiós

HA-ASH – No Tiene Devolución

¡Otra miércoles, otra canción!

When I first began listening to HA-ASH, I was drawn more to their ballads — “Perdón, Perdón”“Sé Que Te Vas”, etc. — and the way they accentuated the power of Ashley’s voice and the way the sisters harmonize so beautifully.  However, there are a few of their more upbeat songs (at least, musically) I’ve grown to love, as well, and this is one of them.

I couldn’t find the translation online anywhere.  Might have to offer one myself on LyricsTranslate.com soon, as I’m getting better at conjugating verbs all the time.  Will keep you updated on that.  The title, though, means something along the lines of “No Refunds”, and I’ll let you guess (for now) whether they’re referring to a customer visiting a shop.  😉 Read More

HA-ASH – ¿Qué Hago Yo?

Otra miércoles, otra canción:  “¿Qué Hago Yo?”

Okay, okay, you got me again.  It’s actually Thursday (jueves) as I’m posting this, but a blogger has control of his publish date and time (as well as her content, of course), so I’m posting on miércoles in spirit, at least!

Lupita y yo have kind of a two-fer for you this week.  One song — “¿Qué Hago Yo?” (What do I do?) — but two versions.  Would be interested in knowing which you favor, so please let us know in the comments and/or on our Facebook page.

The first is the original video, released several years ago Read More

HA-ASH – No Te Quiero Nada

¡Otra miércoles, otra canción de música!

Okay, okay, you got me — at least the more observant of you.  I am actually sharing this on un domingo, because life was too hectic during the week to get to it.  Lots of upheaval at work these days, but I’ll cry you a river some other day.  It’s time to share another great video with you from my hands-down favorite group, HA*ASH.

This one is from their DVD, Primera Fila – Hecho Realidad, which I enjoy as often as I can.   Read More

HA-ASH – Perdón, Perdón

¡Te pido perdón!  Usualmente, estas entradas son para miércoles, pero…

Hola, amigas.  I have another canción (song) for you this week, but I’m not getting it posted until Friday evening.  Go ahead — call me a slacker.  I deserve it!  Appropriately, the title of this song, “Perdón, Perdón”, actually begs for forgiveness, so I don’t have to!

This wonderful number by the lovely Pérez Mosa sisters, Hannah and Ashley (HA*ASH), was actually my first encounter with them.  It was suggested to me one evening, a long while back, while I was listening to Danna Paola on YouTube, and I thought, “Why not?”   Read More

HA-ASH – Sé Te Que Vas

Buenos días, todas.  My video pick of the week — música para el miércoles — is a quintet featuring 2 of my favorite groups, HA-ASH and Matisse.  It was, in fact, in listening to HA-ASH perform that I encountered Matisse to begin with.  ¡Gracias, mis hermanas!  And so, without any further introduction, here are HA-ASH and Matisse performing Sé Que Te Vas”….

¡Hasta lluego, amigas!

HA-ASH – Quédate Lejos

¡Otra miércoles, otra canción!

Esta canción, “Quédate Lejos”, is yet another from the DVD Primera Fila – Hecho Realidad, by my favorite Latina group, HA*ASH.  The song transitions from a beautiful, melodic ballad to a rap fusion just beyond the halfway point, and both Hannah and Ashley… well, cómo se dice en español “get down”?

¡Hasta luego, amigas!

HA-ASH – Me Entrego a Ti

¡Otra Miércoles, otra canción!

When I received my HA*ASH Primera Fila Hecho Realidad DVD by mail a couple of weeks back, there was a video on the disc that had not been included on the extended CD — “Me Entrego a Ti”, which translates to “I surrender to you.”  This is not that video.  But it is the same song, by the same group.  I just found this version more appealing musically.

Oh, and, if you haven’t figured it out yet, you’ll be seeing and hearing more of mis amigas Hannah and Ashley.  No puedo conseguir bastante de su música.

Y para aquellas de ustedes que quieran disfrutar la versión acúsico en vivo…
